El Peretol Ski Sector

El Peretol Ski Sector

Introduced in the 2019-2020 ski season, El Peretol is the most recent addition to the Grandvalira umbrella, making it part of the largest Ski resort in the Pyrenees.

Accessibility to this new entry point has been made possible by extending the Pla de les Pedres chairlift, making it the longest lift transit in the country.

The chairlift travels from an altitude of 1,960 meters to 2,500 meters, from El Peretol to Solanelles, the upper section of the Encamp region. This consequently opens up Bordes d’Envalira as a new access point.

Ski Slopes and Key Features

Lit-up snowpark El Peretol

Because El Peretol is a new dot on Grandvalira’s map, it’s on the quieter side. It features wide but quaint slopes that are ideal for novice skiers.

Of the 4 slopes in this sector, the “Avet” black slope is the most sought-after since it was a part of the women’s alpine skiing World Cup.

Valira 1 and 2 are popular green slopes that run through this sector; they enable a faster connection between the two sectors of Grau Roig and Peretol.

The simplicity of these green slopes makes for an easy transit since they merge and pass through a forest towards the final stretch, which then runs along a wooden passage over the Valira de Oriente river.

El Peretol boasts the following features:

  • Longest chairlift in Andorra — Pla de les Pedres
  • Free shuttle service for those staying in Bordes d’Envalira
  • Home to the best evening snowpark — Sunset Park Henrik Harlaut
  • 4 well-groomed slopes
  • Equipment rental
  • Ski and snowboard school

Locale and Landscape

El Peretol snowpark

The El Peretol sector is located in the parish of Canillo and it can be accessed via the CG-2 main road which connects Andorra la Vella to the French border. It can also be reached from Soldeu, via the CS-240 route.

For those who prefer public transit, there’s a bus that connects Andora la Vella to Soldeu and El Tarter with one stop in the Peretol sector. There’s also a telecabina that connects it with Soldeu.

There’s an equipment rental shop at the base of the sector, where you can find ski and snowboard paraphernalia suitable for all skill levels. They also offer repair and maintenance services for any equipment that you might have or own.

Sunset Park Henrik Harlaut

  • Open from 03:00 pm to 09:00 pm
  • Included in the ski season pass
  • 0.5 kilometres of floodlit slopes
  • 1 lift

A regular meeting spot for seasoned skiers with a hankering for freestyle and jib skiing, Sunset Park is the only place in Grandvalira where you can ski after dark.

Conveniently located between Grau Roig and Soldeu ski resort, it can easily be accessed by car from the main road. There’s even a parking lot at the foot of the park.

Sunset Park Henrik Harlaut

It’s worth noting that Sunset Park Henrik Harlaut is located near the Peretol tow lift in El Peretol but it’s not directly connected to the main ski resort. If you’d rather visit a snow park in the morning, we recommend Snowpark El Tarter and Sunrise Park Xavi.

Ski Season

The ski season in Grandvalira starts at the end of November and ends at the beginning of May. This applies to El Peretol since it falls under the Grandvalira resort cluster.

Opening and closing dates for each sector typically vary depending on the weather and intensity of snowfall. You’ll have access to different ski pass options — single-day, multiple days, and even for the whole season.
